Extended Bio for April Henson
Born as the fourth and last child in Hayward, CA, growing up to become an adult was a tremendous obstacle. I am a Filipina minutely mixed with Spaniard. Between me and the third sibling in my family, there is an age difference of nine years. As they grew older, they all left to accomplish what was life to them.
A full house suddenly became a lonely house with just my parents and I. From living in California, we moved all the way up to the northwest region. Moving from one place to another meant changing schools and friends. While residing in Seattle, WA, the journey to become a woman took place. It was a battle between friends, peer pressure, and family. Making decisions was not an easy task. I admit I did make wrong decisions; however, those wrong decisions allowed me to have a better understanding of life.
Modeling has always been one of my passions. During a Filipino festival called Pista Sa Nayon, I modeled for one of the many performance shows. It gave me a sense of release from the pressure of being an adolescent. Just when I thought I had a place to call home, my parents and I, once again relocated. The last stop is Portland, OR. I was apprehensive in selecting my new friendships. I have learned to take life for what it is.
Recently, I decided to pursue my ambition in modeling and I love every moment. When I am not modeling, I work full time as a Patient Care Technician for HemoDialysis. Also, I plan to pursue a career of becoming a Registered Nurse. You can definitely have beauty along with brains. An ambitious and motivated woman is who I am.
